Jón Engilberts Born May 23, 1908. Studied art for three years at the Academy in Copenhagen under Ejnar Nielsen and Aksel Jörgensen, and for two years at the Academy in Oslo under Axel Revold. Lived abroad until 1940. Made study visits to England, France, Holland, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Ger- many. Awarded the van gogh prize of the Acad- emy in 1936. Has participated in many exhibitions in all the Scandinavian countries, as well as in Ger- many, United States of America, Brussels, London, Moscow and Warsaw. His works are on show in various European and American museums. He has been awarded th'e Swedish vasa order. Measurements in centimeters 31.
