En nú fórHaraldr aptr til Miklagarðs, ok gerðist þá úsætt mikil af drottníngu til Ilaralds: var sú sök hin fyrsta gefin Haraldi, at hann hafði gull þat er álti Girkjakonúngr, ok eigi alt upp greitt, svá sem lög stóðu til, ok hafði sjálfr meira af eignazl, en konúngr hafði veitt honum, ok sögðu þeir at þá stund er hann var yfir4 Girkjakonúngs her, at ekki kom gull af galeiðum; en önnur sök var sú, at Zóe drottníng kendi Haraldi, at hann tíðkaðist Maríu, sonardóttur heuuar; Haraldr bað Maríu ok fékk eigi; þat segja menu þeir er verit hafa í Miklagarði5, at Zóe drottníng vildi sjálf hafa Harald.
