We could see the “Old man of Storr” very blue on the Skye line of hills, and were beginning to wax poetical when that blessed gong sounded, and dinner chased poetry out of our heads. We might have lingered longer over our nuts with the Mohicans assembled, “so sweet and valuable is their discourse,” but the notes of the song, “Over the sea to Skye,” were in our ears, and we had to go on deck to see the grand view—out into the Minch in bright sunshine, leaving
