The Women's Alliance wants 2 allocations to the University of Iceland and other schools at the same level to be greatly increased, so that they may fulfill their roles according to the demands that must be made upon them, $ to support the Universitv of Iceland as a scientific and research in- stitution, $ to strengthen the science and research fund and adopt a scheme of grant allocations for up to three years, 2 the autonomy of the University of Iceland be honoured and positions within it not be given by the minister of education, 2 to open the University of Iceland by offering evening classes, summer courses and open university education, 2 student loans to meet the cost of living, 2 to prevent the changing of the legislation concerning the Icelandic Student Fund which will diminish equality for education, 2 teachers and technical education to be well cared for. 19
