The Women's Alliance wants 9 to work towards changing people's attitudes to include the handicap- ped in the daily life of our society, education system, and employment as far as they would wish and are capable, $ the government to implement legislation concerning the handicapped and ensure appropriate allocations to the Handicapped Achievement Fund, 9 the total compensation of the handicapped to be at least equal to the minimum wage and that the compensation system does not discourage people to seek employment, 9 services to be provided for the handicapped in their area of residency. When this is not possible, the families should receive financial aid, especially in cases where changes of residency are necessary, 9 the need for special education to be met in accordance with the law and an increase of allocations to ensure special education needs are a first priority, 9 the laws concerning higher education to ensure accessibility for the handicapped, in both specialized and rehabilitative education, 9 the increased use of cooperative treatment, and small provisional homes. The government housing system should enable the handicapped to own their homes, 9 aid provided for parents of handicapped children through financing, short term care centers, and increased numbers of support families, 9 the increase of protected work centers and action taken to improve employment conditions for the handicapped, 9 a wage increase for workers caring for the handicapped in accordance with the importance of their work. 31
