9 that support for amateur artistic and cultural work be increased nation-wide, 9 that the National Broadcasting Service open to the public a 3rd chan- nel where individuals, groups or societies have access to studios and technical assistance but pay all other expenses, 9 encouragement of education and research which we see as the basis for building up and creating new opportunities in the nation's economy, 9 that equal rights to education be honored in deed by supporting our junior comprehensive schools nation-wide and enough funding be en- sured to run a strong educational system, — 9 that secondary education be available to all regardless of location, sex or financial status, 9 that adult education be increased and open university courses estab- lished, which would radically change people's opportunities all over the country for further and continuous education, 9 that allocations to the University of Iceland and other schools at the same level be significantly increased, 9 that there should be no alterations to the legislation covering the Icelandic Student Loan Fund which would undermine equal rights to education, 9 to work against the build-up of armaments and military alliances all over the world and protect human rights, 9 the decrease of centralization in Icelandic society and the increase of the distribution of power so as to give the population direct influence over the affairs which concern its daily life.
