The Women's Alliance wants 2 the influence of women to increase significantly in the formation and administration of agricultural policy, 2 research and statistics to be gathered on all farms to enable the plan- ning and policy concerning agriculture to be based on the endowments of the land, 2 a termination of the renting and selling of agricultural production rights, 2 farms to be of a size which allows farmers to make a decent livelihood, 2 a limit placed on the permitted size of farms with consideration to natural resources such as salmon rivers e.g., and production limited to legally registered farms, 2 to curb the increase of farmers in traditional production areas while the problems facing agriculture are being solved, 2 the government to purchase estates from those farmers wishing to change occupation, 2 to minimize the centralization of agricultural administration, 2 the agricultural funding system reviewed, 2 the processing of agricultural products to be located near areas of production and agricultural products fully produced in Iceland, 2 the investigation of all possible utilization of resources, 2 the wool industry to create and produce products which emphasize the uniqueness of the Icelandic wool, 2 an increase in vegetable production and work toward national self- suffiency in this area, 2 to discourage factory agriculture which places profits above quality. 25
