III. 580) ascribes this translation by an error to his son, the pro- lific psalmist Siguröur Jónsson. As has been stated before we are ignorant of the exact date of this work, as no clue is to be found in the two existing copies of it, but we take it for granted thatit was issued in one of the years 1G23- 24. Bishop Finnur gives no date but Espólín (Árbækur VI. 23) tells us that it was printed in 1G24 and Nyerup and Kraft in 1622. It is, however, not likely that it was printed previous to 1G20, as it is not mentioned in Björn Sturluson’s Lofdiktur um Gubbrand biskup Porláksson (Jón Þorkelsson, Digtningen pá Island pp. 334-307), where a bibligraphy of the Hólar printing office up to 1G20 is given. * 11. The first two (1578 and 1599) are both said to be in 8°, as is the one cited at theabove place, which, like the present, is a fragment. Of the text proper there is lacking about four pages (the conclusion then being : Ender a þessum Agitr.ta \ Bcekl- inge, Urbani Regij.y as occtirs on sig. Hviij obv. of the issue of 1666). But the actual end of the volume depends on the supplementary matter—of which at least 9 small 8° pages of Nockrar Goodar og Naudsynlegar Bœnery in the sm. 8°. 1666 edition, follow the conclusion of the trea- tise of Regius.
